Teachers’ (& others) Kinusaiga Day Camp!

Start off your summer break learning a new skill: kinusaiga! What is kinusaiga, you ask? Best described as a no-sew rigid quilt, we will learn the modern take on this ancient Japanese art form of wrapping wood in coloured silk. This three-afternoon kinusaiga day camp is designed for educators on their summer break or others looking for daytime instruction. Join us at Cartizan Studio in the heart of Winnipeg at the Forks for a structured yet restorative creative experience during the summer break. Participants will be led through a practice piece and guided in designing and executing a second kinusaiga art piece to be hung and framed.

Learn a new skill that you can practice at your leisure all summer long and bring back to the classroom come fall. All materials are provided—participants are invited to sit back, relax, and start their summer off doing something fun for themselves! Join us July 7, 8, and 9 from 2:00-4:00pm.
