Who doesn’t love fresh, warm strawberries on a sunny summer day? Capture that summer feeling (and make some truly Insta-worthy pieces) this June at Cartizan Studio at the heart of Winnipeg at the Forks! This four week specialty clay session will help to delve into the world of slab-built pottery with guided instruction to create a strawberry themed vase, platter or colander, and (strawberry) jam jar! Choose one, two, or three of the building classes and then be sure not to miss the glazing class to bring colour and life to your creations!
June 1, 6:30-8:30 – Platter/Colander – choose from multiple styles and shapes and create your own platter or berry colander. $55 (includes cost of firing and glazing class)
June 8, 6:30-8:30- Vase – build a vase and add strawberry enhancements such as 3D strawberries, seeds, or even a ladybug! $55 (includes cost of firing and glazing class)
June 15, 6:30-8:30 – Jam Jar – create a decorative strawberry jam jar (not intended for actual canning) in the style of a mega strawberry or with a cool red gingham effect. $55 (includes cost of firing and glazing class)
June 29, 6:30-8:30 – Glazing Night! – Seal, protect, strengthen, and bring bright colour to your clay creation! Can’t make it on June 29? No worries, glazing can happen any time the studio is open and available.
