School’s Out Art Series (26/27 School Year PD Days)

No school? No problem! Take advantage of your kids’ days off with this fun art series, scheduled according to the advertised Manitoba school staff Professional Development days and give your young artist an afternoon filled with creativity, exploration, and hands-on art while you get through your workday.

Our School’s Out Art Series are designed for those school holidays and professional development days when the kids are home but parents still have to work. Each afternoon features a fun, larger art project where kids will learn new skills and techniques and walk away with something they will love to show off!

Perfect for young artists (ages 8+) of all skill levels, these creative days are a chance to make, explore, connect, and have fun in a welcoming studio environment. All sessions are from 1:30-3:30 unless otherwise noted.

Oct 23 (day off for all MB schools): Loom Landscape – Learn how to weave a custom landscape on a loom!

Oct 28, 10-12AM (day off for Pembina Trails, Louis Riel, RETSD): Pumpkin Gnome House – turn a faux pumpkin into a gnome house – cute or creepy, it’s up to you!

Nov 27 (day off for Louis Riel, RESTD, & Seven Oaks): Cozy Cowl – make an infinity scarf to keep away the winter chill!

Jan 29 (day off for Pembina Trails & Louis Riel):  – Shoot for the Moon – create a glowing moon to hang on your wall!

Feb 5 (day off for all MB Public Schools): Cozy Kinusaiga Penguin – get warm with this ancient Japanese textile art to create a cute penguin pic!

Mar 19 (day off for all MB schools): Block Party Tote – Learn to design and block print on a cute canvas tote!

April 16 (day off for all MB schools): Glass Mosaic Suncatcher – herald in the spring with a cheery glass sun catcher!

May 7 (day off for Louis Riel and RETSD): Cutie Pattotie Terrarium – Create a terrarium full of cute characters for your bedroom!
