Birches at Night Mixed Media Workshop (Nov 15)

Enter a quiet woodland after dark and explore the magic of moonlight, shadow, and colour in this atmospheric mixed media workshop at Cartizan Studio in Winnipeg at the Forks.

Using layers of oil paint over acrylics, you’ll create a luminous nighttime birch forest where deep, serene tones meet the soft glow of moonlight on snow. Build your landscape through expressive brushwork, translucent layers, rich textures, and subtle contrasts as the birch trees emerge from the darkness.

This workshop invites you to discover both mediums to see how acrylic and oil can work together to create depth, atmosphere, and a sense of mystery. Whether you’re new to painting or looking to explore a more expressive approach, you’ll be guided step-by-step while still having plenty of room for your own artistic interpretation.
