Captain Kennedy Echinachea Watercolour Workshop (Sept 2)

Step into a slower, more elegant pace of life with this one-of-a-kind watercolour experience hosted at the historic Captain Kennedy Tea House. Celebrate the beauty of late-summer blooms in this calming and expressive Echinacea Watercolour Workshop, where art meets nature in a relaxed, welcoming setting on the banks of the Red River. Enjoy tea, crumpets, and more, courtesy of the Captain Kennedy Tea House throughout the afternoon.

In this guided session, you’ll learn how to build soft layers of colour, create depth with delicate washes, and capture the natural movement of coneflower petals using loose, expressive brushwork. Rather than focusing on perfection, this workshop invites you to slow down and enjoy the process. Watch colours blend and bloom on the page as you explore simple techniques that bring your painting to life. Whether you’re brand new to watercolour or looking for a peaceful creative escape, this experience is designed to feel approachable, meditative, and inspiring.

All art materials are provided, however this is a BYOB (Bring Your Own Blanket/Lawn Chair or Lounge Chair) which will be held on the outdoor lawns of the Tea House. Just bring yourself and a willingness to unwind, create, and connect with the beauty of nature through paint. Join us September 2 from 2-4 pm with the rain date on September 9 from 2-4pm.
