Oil Painting Essentials: 5 Weeks to your First Masterpiece

Discover the foundations of oil painting with Ue Enkhbold through the engaging and heartwarming subject of pet portraits in this beginner-friendly course. Over five weeks, you’ll learn essential techniques—value, colour theory, layering, texture, and brushwork—while creating two portraits: one fully layered piece and one alla prima painting completed in a single session. Each class blends demonstrations, guided studio time, and personalized feedback to help you build confidence and develop your own artistic style. By the end, you’ll not only understand how to work with oils but also walk away with two expressive pet portraits and the skills to continue painting independently.

This course runs from 6:30-9:30 PM on January 11, 18, 25, February 1, and 8. Students will be provided with high quality, traditional oil paints and will be required to bring their work home at the end of each class.
